In a grand show of support for grassroots development, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Dr. Uba Sani, on 14th April, Monday, attended a large-scale empowerment program in Zaria as the Special Guest of Honour.
The event, held at the Nasara Football Field in Kofar Doka, drew a large crowd of beneficiaries and political stakeholders from across Zone One.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajuddeen, GCON, as part of his ongoing efforts to uplift the living standards of his constituents. Designed to promote economic self-reliance and reduce poverty, the program saw the distribution of: 100 vehicles, 500 commercial tricycles (Keke Napep), and 1,000 motorcycles.
In his address, Governor Uba Sani commended the Speaker for his dedication to community development, describing the initiative as a “bold step toward sustainable economic empowerment.” He emphasised the importance of such programs in fostering job creation and reducing youth unemployment.
Political observers say the scale of the distribution reflects a deepening commitment by elected officials to deliver tangible benefits to the people. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the tools provided would significantly boost their livelihoods.
This marks one of the largest empowerment efforts in recent times in the region, signaling a new wave of people-centered representation in Kaduna State.
