The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced key updates regarding preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise. Director-General Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa shared the developments upon resuming office after returning from the Holy Land.
According to a statement from the Board, a two-storey building located in Shahri Mansur—just a short distance from the Haram in Makkah—has been secured to accommodate approximately 3,205 pilgrims. The prime location is expected to greatly enhance the pilgrims' experience during the Hajj.
In a move to improve welfare and logistics, the Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a reputable catering company to ensure the timely and consistent provision of meals throughout the pilgrimage period.
Alhaji Danbappa also confirmed that the Board has fulfilled all financial obligations through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). Currently, two-thirds of the pilgrims' visas are being processed, with the remainder expected to be completed soon.
He urged all intending pilgrims to take part in the mandatory Hajj Induction Course (BITA) and to complete their required medical check-ups as part of preparations for the holy journey.
To support the BITA course, the Board has launched a Hajj enlightenment radio program, enabling pilgrims to benefit from training while observing Ramadan.
The Kano State Government reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, safety, and comfort of all pilgrims from the state. With 3,155 intending pilgrims already registered for the 2025 Hajj, the Board says it is working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience.
