Chairman, House Committee on Health Care Services and Member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Honorable. Dr. Amos Gwamna Magaji, has said that his performance and the will of the people will determine his political trajectory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking shortly after receiving Authentic Special Award Of Recognition For The Year 2024 at the 10th edition of Authentic News Daily awards/Lectures held in Kaduna at the weekend, Honourable. Magaji stated that he remains committed to delivering quality representation through people-centred legislation and health sector reforms.
“2027 is still some years ahead and it’s in the hands of God. What we have been doing, we shall continue to do. The good work of promoting healthcare services in Nigeria, and especially in our constituency, will not stop,” he said.
On his potential ambition for the Senate, the lawmaker hinted at a broader vision but maintained that any future step would be people-driven.
“It’s not about running to unseat someone. It’s about quality representation. When the time comes, the people will decide. If they compare and find our record worthy, then so be it,” he stated.
Magaji, who has consistently maintained a performance-over-promise posture, said his achievements in Zangon Kataf and Jaba speak for themselves.
“I am not someone that talks too much. I believe in action. Even our opponents can testify that God has used us to transform Zangon Kataf and Jaba. The Bible says he that is faithful in little will be faithful in much,” he said.
He commended Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for what he described as a “new wave of inclusiveness” in Southern Kaduna, noting that the governor’s developmental strides and political appointments have restored confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Before now, if I had joined APC, my people might have stoned me. But now there is a breath of hope. Uba Sani has performed well, in visits, in projects, and in appointments. The people of Southern Kaduna are beginning to believe in this government,” he said.
Magaji confirmed that his move into the APC was driven by the renewed faith of his constituents in the current administration, adding that the party is poised for victory in the next election cycle.
“With what we’re seeing, it’s going to be a done deal for Uba Sani in 2027 — and of course, the APC at the national level,” he added.
