The traditional ruler of Shata in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Garba Kali, has expressed appreciation to the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) for its intervention projects in his community, while also appealing for additional support.
The monarch made the remarks during an evaluation visit by a team from N-HYPPADEC to assess ongoing and completed projects within the area.
He praised the commission for providing potable drinking water and constructing classrooms in schools across host communities, as well as donating educational furniture and learning materials.
"I want to assure the commission of our commitment to maintaining and making judicious use of these facilities for the benefit of the community,” the royal father said. “However, I would like to use this opportunity to appeal for more impactful projects that will further improve the lives of our people.”
In his remarks, the Head of Media and Public Affairs at N-HYPPADEC, Nura Tanko Wakili, reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to the development of its mandate communities across the state.
Wakili explained that the ongoing post-management evaluation of projects is aimed at assessing the viability and impact of executed initiatives across the 17 local government areas under N-HYPPADEC’s jurisdiction in Niger State.
“Our visit is also intended to sensitize communities on the importance of taking ownership of projects and ensuring their maintenance for long-term sustainability,” he said.
