In a grand ceremony steeped in political and cultural significance, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu formally gave out Aisha Dikko Umaru Radda, daughter of the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, in marriage.
The wedding took place in Katsina, with former Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isah Yuguda, standing in to receive the bride price of ₦700,000 on behalf of the groom, Ahmed Usman. The marriage rites were conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions by the Chief Imam of Usman Bin Affan Jumu’ah Mosque, Alhaji Amadi Batagarawa.
The high-profile event attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria’s political landscape. Among those in attendance were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Also present were several state governors, including Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Muhammad Umar Bago (Niger), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), and Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano).
Members of the Federal Executive Council were also in attendance, including Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmad Musa Dangiwa; Minister of Information, Muhammad Idris Malagi; and Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali.
Former Katsina State Governors Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and Barr. Ibrahim Shema, along with the current Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Jobe, graced the occasion, which also drew several members of the National Assembly and top government functionaries.
The business community was well represented by prominent figures such as Dahiru Mangal, Arthur Eze, and Isah Gerawa. The Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Charles Odii, was also present.
Adding royal grandeur to the ceremony were the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar.
The ceremony was widely regarded as a symbol of national unity, bringing together political leaders, traditional rulers, and private sector stakeholders in celebration of love, family, and cultural heritage.
