The First Lady of Zamfara State, Her Excellency Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has been honoured with the prestigious African Iconic Award 2025, in recognition of her outstanding leadership and commitment to social impact. She was named Iconic First Lady of the Year in Nigeria.
The award ceremony took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja and celebrated the resilience and strength of African women.
A staunch advocate for women and children's empowerment, Mrs. Lawal has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to philanthropy and social development across Zamfara State and beyond.
This year’s event, themed “Breaking Barriers, Building Legacy,” brought together notable personalities from across the continent who have made significant contributions to their communities.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Lawal expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support and to the people of Zamfara for inspiring her journey.
