The Bauchi State Urban Water and Sewerage Corporation has established a mobile court to tackle water-related offences and enhance compliance with water regulations across the state.
This was disclosed to the media at the corporation’s headquarters by the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Umar Adamu Jibrin, who spoke on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Engineer Aminu Aliyu Gital.
According to the statement, the initiative is part of ongoing reforms aimed at ensuring the effective management of water facilities and resources, thereby promoting sustainable water supply across Bauchi State.
The mobile court will provide a platform for the prompt adjudication of cases involving illegal water connections, water theft, and other violations of water laws. By bringing judicial processes closer to the affected communities, the initiative seeks to make justice more accessible and to hold offenders accountable.
Her Lordship, Zainab Shuaibu, will preside over the newly established court.
The corporation called on residents to cooperate with the mobile court and comply with existing water regulations, emphasising that collective responsibility is crucial in achieving a sustainable water supply and improving public health.
“Together, we can ensure a sustainable water supply and improve the quality of life for everyone in our state,” the statement concluded.
