Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has paid a condolence visit to his Niger State counterpart, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, over the recent terrorist attacks on some communities in the Borgu Emirate of Niger State.

Governor Abdulrazaq described the attacks as unfortunate and heartbreaking, noting that the assailants’ nefarious activities have claimed many lives, destroyed livelihoods, and rendered several families homeless.

He conveyed the sympathy of the Government and people of Kwara State, as well as that of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, to the Government and people of Niger State. He also assured that sustained efforts would be made, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to address the prevailing security challenges across the country.

In his response, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago appreciated his Kwara State counterpart for the visit, describing it as heartwarming and a strong demonstration of solidarity. He noted that both states share a border around the Borgu Emirate and face similar security challenges, stressing the need for continued cooperation to tackle the threats effectively.
