The Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam, participated in the Director Generals’ Forum meeting with the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji. The meeting was held at the Minister’s Conference Room, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja, and focused on implementing key government policies and reforms.
The forum, which brought together heads of various agencies under the ministry, aimed to enhance efficiency in tracking and reporting the implementation of government priorities. Chief Uche Nnaji underscored the importance of compliance with the ministry’s directives, particularly in submitting reports on agencies’ achievements.
“All agencies are required to submit a detailed achievement report on the implementation of the Presidential Priorities no later than Friday, 21st February 2025. This report will be used to assess ministerial performances,” the Minister stated.
The meeting was attended by the 16 Director Generals of agencies under the ministry, including:
National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Zaria
Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria
Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), Ibadan
Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), Lagos
National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja
Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Abuja
Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Abuja
National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Abuja
National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), Abuja
Other sister agencies under the ministry were also represented at the high-level meeting.
The gathering served as a platform for strategic engagement, ensuring that agencies align their programs with the government’s innovation and scientific development goals. The submission of detailed reports on achievements will enable the ministry to assess progress and enhance accountability within its agencies.
