The executive chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (BA-SUBEB), Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, has commended teachers across the state for their commitment, unwavering dedication, resilience, and invaluable contributions to the development of education.
The chairman made the commendation in his 2026 Workers' Day message, describing teachers as the backbone of society who shape the minds and character of future generations.
In a statement issued by the Board's Public Relations Officer, Isah Mohammed Jungudo on Friday, Baba noted that teachers' commitment to nurturing knowledge, instilling discipline, and promoting excellence continues to inspire hope and drive progress within communities.
"As we celebrate this important day, we commend your sacrifices and tireless efforts in advancing the standard of basic education in the state," he said.
"Your role in driving the vision of a digitally transformed and quality education system cannot be overstated,"
he added.
The chairman also acknowledged the efforts of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in the ongoing reform of the basic education sector.
He highlighted key initiatives of the administration, including the recruitment of qualified teachers, continuous training and retraining programmes, construction of new schools, renovation of existing ones, and the provision of essential teaching and learning materials.
According to him, these efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to restoring and strengthening basic education in Bauchi State.
"The Board recognised and commended the governor for these laudable achievements and assured teachers of the Bauchi State Government"s continued support in providing an enabling environment and opportunities for professional growth," the statement added.
